Guest guest
Last night I had a session called " feel sorry for Carol " and " depression " session. Now I'm ready to get some advice. I figured you all could help me because you have fused backs. For a little of my background: I have been having a pain in my abdomen for about 10 days. I saw my family doctor and he did tests that ruled out bladder infection, kidney stones (CT scan) and blood tests to rule out kidney infections or abnormalities. When I saw him the other day he said it appeared to be a pinched nerve in my lower back/hip area. Now the pain has concentrated in my lower back instead of my abdomen...that leads me to believe he was right. How does a person deal with a pinched nerve in their back? Should a person exercise or rest? The problem is I have no bone flap in my head. (that's a long story) So, if I exercise, what exercise should I do? I can't walk, because I might fall. I could ride my exercise bike?....or should I rest and take it easy. I was supposed to see Dr. Hu last Wed. but I had all this other drama. I had to reschedule my appt. to Apr. 25. That's the earliest that my husband can go because he has rotating days off. I would appreciate some advice. Thank you! Carol V.
Guest guest
With medical permission, I would suggest yoga, especially if you have Yoga for Scoliosis available on-line through National Scoliosis Foundation. Even with that, you only start with what you are able to do right now and work up your level of ability. It is a nice, slow stretch but it's still easy to overdo it if you're not careful. You know your body the best. Take care of yourself. Guest guest
I forgot to mention about depression, read or watch something humorous, call a friend, volunteer at something (some organizations might need someone to make phone calls, computer help, etc.). Basically anything that will keep your mind active in a positive way, even window shopping in your local mall, then you can get a little exercise and be in a social environment at the same time. Anything along this line that is within your ability.
