Guest guest
Based on my pre-surgery experience and today's posts, I propose refoematting the questions for surgeons in the files section. I read through all of those lists pre-surgery, I became seriously overwhelmed and questioned whether I had vetted my surgeon sufficiently. In reality, I highly doubt most people manage to ask some of the most detailed queations found in the files section. I propose compiling a very brief list of fhe essential questions that should always be asked, and then have additional more detailed lists eith as submitted by diffent members, or just divided up into categories (which I think would be easier to navigate for new members). I would be happy to tackle this project. Since I'm recovering from surgery, it would obviously take me a while. But I would love to have a chace to contribute to a group that's helped me so much during these past few months. I suppose I should obviously write up my experiences for the member stories section. Is there a particular cormat or any rules for this? Anything else I shoild do? Anything else I can do to help? I have moderator experience (Freecycle), but am not interested in moderating. Is there any behind-the-scenes work I could help with? (Can anyone tell that the recovery downtime is already driving me bonkers?)
Guest guest
, I would love it if you would work on a document detailing what you feel the essential questions that you needed answered prior to surgery! Any member can put up their own experience on this group without moderation....they should just clearly identify that they are detailing their own experiences. That is the beauty of this group...we are a very small segment of a very specialized group and our journeys are all very unique to us. There are some " hallmarks " that seem obvious to many of us reading the group for many years...so it is imperative that people take the initiative and document their own experiences.....otherwise there really isnt anything for people to use as guideposts as they go along. When we started this group I was just a few months ahead of where you are now. I had time on my hands and so I put a lot of my experiences out there....they stand to this day as my experiences....but they are 6 years old and its getting to the point where no doubt somethings may have changed...so please feel free to put up whatever file you think might help others later on. You can use any kind of word processing you like, and then upload as you did on your other group... kind of walks you through it. If you want to do a collaborative list, you can just start a new thread and gather all the results/answers from other members and edit and put them in a document (like I did with the " What to take to the Hospital " thread we ran several years ago). It will pass the time...I promise!
