Guest guest
Cam,Since my brace really only bothers me when I'm sitting, he did't seem too concerned. Also, the amount that it is bothering me is decreasing over time. I think it was partially due to being hyper-sensitive during the early post surgery days. He reminded me that I don't need to wear it if I am sitting in a straight high-backed chair or my recliner. I still hate having to wear it, but that nut really a solvable problem. I have the business card for the person who made my brace, so I'll give him a call if it becomes necessary. Thanks,On Mar 23, 2011, at 3:57 PM, " cammnaltby " <cammaltby@...> wrote: Hi , Great report! Thanks for giving us the update.....my only question is did anything change about your brace? Were you able to get it adjusted? Try not to worry too much about your return to work date. Even though it seems daunting now, my guess is you will be very surprised with each passing week how much stronger you feel. And it sounds like your employer will be happy to make any necessary accomodations...which really rocks! Take Care, Cam
Guest guest
,Even with using two bone stims, I need to do a two to three day cycle of moving the pads to ultimately achieve full coverage. But I would not want to wear more than two of those things. I must admit, I still haven't set it up. Naughty , I know! They should design one that connects to more leads so those of us with longer fusions don't need to wear multiple units. This is going to drive me crazy! I liked Jeff just fine. My mind sent blank as soon as I walked into the appointment, which is typical for me. It's a good thing I wrote a few questions down.My husband was also there with me. Though he was threatening to ask when we could have " relations " again. I guess a month is already a long time to wait for him. I guess I'll throw that question out to the group then, since I'm sure at least some of you asked any advice? When I had surgery in 2006, my incision was t1-s1, all old hardware out, all new hardware in, they started at the top with the bone stim and I (actually somebody else had to) move it an inch down everyday and continued to cycle like that for 120 days. They were saying then there had to be a better way to get better coverage, so two bone stims doesn't surprise me. I was surprised after I saw my back after the bone stim had been working, it looks like a huge paint splat which was actually bone growth, so I assume they solidify the anchoring of new hardware with bone growth. Guest guest
I'm sure different docs will have different opinions,. but my hospital discharge papers and my pre-op information papers from UCSF both say to wait 6 weeks before having sex. .................Kathy Hi ,I am not surprised about the bone stim.
