We have dear friends with a child who is adult CP patient with many of the same deficits your son has, he's 31 and their constant loving care has kept him going, just as your has done with your son. Recently I was over at their place when they put him to bed, over an hour of feeding, meds, compression vest treatment etc, they and you amaze me. I read quite a bit this morning seeing if I could find anything that would be of help. The article above was the most complete. Most say the only way to rid the infection is hardware removal, and since that isn't possible, I'm at a loss, since the antibiotics are no longer working. I'm pretty sure the infection is painful, and at this point keeping him comfortable would be the most important thing. I'd check into pain mgt for him, besides all his other docs. My heart goes out to you, and I hold your family in my thoughts! Colorado Springs
