Guest guest
Hi ... Yes, I'm now 8 weeks postop. My back is doing very well, and I'm weaning off of all meds. I'm still on a night-time dose of oxycontin, but only because I'm trying to wean very slowly. I still take an occasional daytime dose of percoset as needed. I will see Drs. Berven and Hu on Friday. I'm still suffering from the effects of lymphedema caused by the anterior surgery. My right foot is alternately painful, burning, stinging, or numb. It's getting really old. I am, however, hopeful, that it will get better. The sooner the better. I suspect that if it wasn't for this issue, I'd be going back to work this coming week. I actually haven't started physical therapy yet, because of an insurance issue. I start this coming week, with someone local who probably has no experience with such a complex case. We'll see how it goes. At least I know what can probably hurt me, so will be cautious about what I let them do. Thanks very much for asking about me. Guest guest
Hi - Glad to hear you are doing well. Hey...did you get my e-mail about my frofile pic taken at Dr Hu's office? I sent it to your in box. If not, do you know where that pic is? Is it in my file or was it used for the long term scoliosis study you were telling me about? Just curious. If it is still at her office, I will ask for a copy of it when I go back in 5 weeks. I didn't think about it until I was on the car ride home. Hope your next appointment goes well..........................Kathy From: <linda.racine@...>Subject: [ ] Re: R. How are you? Date: Sunday, March 20, 2011, 3:26 PM Hi ...Yes, I'm now 8 weeks postop. Guest guest
, I have not been posting for a while and had no idea you had surgery. I am very glad to hear your back is healing well and sorry to hear about the lymphedema and insurance issue. I hope both issues resolve quickly. Take care, Liesel
Guest guest
Hi , I hope that the lymphedema issue gets better soon for you! It sounds that otherwise you are doing great. That is good news. Good luck with your PT. It is a chance, and you may have to keep on looking. When I went out for mine, I was ready to try a few. But I lucked out with my first one. I went local as well and I was a little worried. It turned out that he had treated other scoli patients (not flatback, but after scoli surgery), so he was very aware of the ok's and don't do of back surgeries. I brought in my medical records, so he could read what was done. I think that helped for him to be extra cautious. He turned out to be great, so it worked out. > > > > Hi , > > > > I read your reply posts... so I was wondering, how are you doing? You are past the 6wk-post op, right? Guest guest
Hi , Glad to hear you're doing well. I'm curious about your foot pain though. Did you have this pain before your surgery or did it start after the surgery? What's the reason for this pain? I hope it resolves soon. Guest guest
Hi Kathy... I didn't get your email. Your best bet is to send thing sto me at lindaracine @ earthlink.net (without the spaces). Your pictures are probably still on the camera in the clinic. Remind me when I get back to work, and I'll make sure to download the photos and send copies to you. We'll also want to take postop pics. Hope you're doing well. -- > > > > Hi , > > > > I read your reply posts... so I was wondering, how are you doing? You are past the 6wk-post op, right? Guest guest
Hi Bonnie... We're all fairly certain that the foot pain is from the lymphedema. I did not have it before surgery. -- > > Hi , > > Glad to hear you're doing well. I'm curious about your foot pain > though.
