Guest guest
Hi, - Great news! I'm so pleased you're doing so well and I have my fingers crossed that the MDs will let you eat like a normal person. What food do you miss the most? For me, it was bread - specifically, bagels. In fact, once I knew I could eat them successfully again, I brought a dozen to both my specialist and my surgeon by way of " thank you " ! In the past 13 months since my surgery, I've hardly gone a day without one - making up for those 5 years when I went without! Good luck today - hope it's the best birthday present ever! Guest guest
YOu will do great! debby [ ] Wish me luck Hi all,Tomorrow is the big day of my long awaited biopsy. It has been nearly four years, and three bad flares since last one. Been wanting answers for a while. Kind of scary now that the time is here. Symptoms haven't been great the last year, so worried about what answers I am going to get. I know I may not be up to getting on here for a couple of days, as my last one I was in alot of pain afterwards. It really knocked the heck out of me, but could be because I was so very sick when that one was done. So keeping my fingers crossed I am surprised with it being nothing much at all. Going to think positive. But if you don't hear from me for a bit, it is just me convelescing. They tell me my doc will have the results in one week and will call me about it. I hope so, they were sure slow on the last one. I'm pretty sure it will take longer than a week though - they have already told meseveral times how 'busy' they are with biopsies lately. Just hope they don't make me wait too long, makes me very grouchy. Anyway, wish me luck that it all goes smooth and painless.Love,Carole
Guest guest
Dear Carole, Having just gone through it, I can certainly feel for you !!! Carole, be sure NOT to let your doctor do what mine did to me !!! Make sure that you tell the nurses that you WILL HAVE something for pain BEFORE the procedure !!! Also, for the biopsy results, the hospital will have the report in 48 hrs. Give the " medical records " department a call on Friday morning and see if they have it ready - - they should. All you will have to do is go to the hospital, sign a form, and pick the pathology report up !!! This is how I got mine. By the way, I called the GI's office and the nurse told me that they did not have it !!! It is only a " power " game !!! I actually know for a fact that it was sent to my GI via fax last Friday !!! Dear Carole, my prayers and my thoughts are with you !!! A BIG Hug !! a > Hi all, > > Tomorrow is the big day of my long awaited biopsy. Guest guest
Carole...that's the idea think positive thoughts. But as I always say " no pain...no pain " Just tell the doc.. take a litle leave a little . I personally think your going to be fine and they better treat you right or I'll tell them you are fleet champion and your gloves are close by. Guest guest
a, Unfortunately I have learned from experience - with test results and such - your doctor is only as informed as his staff makes him. I have left doctors for that reason. My old GP had the most awsome nurse. I go in to get blood drawn, and that afternoon she faxed them to me. When she left I would have to wait two sometimes three weeks for my test results - and had to ask for them to be faxed every time, even though my chart said to do it in large letters on the front. Then they would get appointments messed up, all sorts of stuff. so told the doc that I love him but his staff stinks. He agreed with me! So he moved on to a whole new practice! I really miss him. I am hoping they get things together in good time. I am actually going to do the paper work tomorrow to have them just mail it when it is done. And yes, they will be giving my drugs! Wouldn't do it any other way. Still not looking forward to it any way though. Oh well, it will be over quick, and I will be on to vomiting in no time! Actually they are supposed to hit me with some Tigan so that doesn't happen either. Thanks for the well wishes. Love, Carole
Guest guest
Carole: I had a biopsy yesterday. All went well. It was done in the x-ray department guided by ultra sound. The local anesthetic was sufficient for the procedure. It was uncomfortable but not too bad. I didn't require anything for pain afterwards. I am a little sore today, but no big deal. I am just going to take it easy. We should get our results about the same time. I wish it would be this week, rather than next. I have not had a repeat biopsy in about 13 years, so I am very anxious to see if there have been changes microscopically over the years. I am crossing my fingers for both of us......Marty [ ] Wish me luck Hi all,Tomorrow is the big day of my long awaited biopsy. It has been nearly four years, and three bad flares since last one. Guest guest
Hi Helen: Well, first, off congratulations for being asked to speak. They couldn't have picked a better person. Secondly, what time should I be at your house today LOL. You certainly are cooking up a storm. It all sounds delicious. Congrats to Nick too. That sounds way to cute with him practicing on the ottoman with an audience. Good for him for taking it serious enough to practice. I am sure he will do an awesome job. Please wish him good luck for me. Good luck to you on Wednesday, I am sure you will do a wonderful job at getting Nick's story across and telling more people about JRA. I'll be thinking of you. Guest guest
Helen, Congrdulations to you and Nick. My Mom always told me if I got stuck with talking to take a deep breathe and close my eyes. When I open them think of everyone naked lololol. She said it will either get you laughing or you will look stright forward and hopw you hurry up and sit down. Also another good way is think of the adults as Kid's and your talking to them. You will be fine though and Nick will to. Will be cheering you on in spirit. Robbin

From just this little time that I have cyber known you, you are very knowledgeable about JRA, and I am sure you will take all you have learned to this breakfast. BTW, my beef stew is in the crockpot right now too, only I add beef kidney to mine. Shhh, don't tell the kids. Kirsty Wish me luck I am a nervous wreak... Guest guest
Helen, you will do fine. As many have said speak from the heart, from experiences and as a mom! No one is more out of their comfort zone than I am when it comes to public speaking. prior to my AF involvement you could not pay me to speak. In school I took a lesser grade to avoid speaking. In college it never failed I was sick or would choose a more difficult assignment to get out of going to the front of the class. I would get so sick if I had too.....However, when i found just how passionate I am about arthritis, finding a cure and helping people like your son or even myself I found speaking was not so hard....best of luck and let us know how it goes!
