I was on Xolair for a year, absolutely loved my shots, imagine my

surprise when my insurance company (Keiser Permanente) decided it was

not medically necessary for me to remain on the Xolair shots. I cried

and beg them and sent a letter of appeal to them, still no luck they

refuse to pay and I can't afford the shots myself. But I did love them

and they really helped! my doctor also sent a letter, they still don't

care.

Welcome to the group! I see you made it here from WebMd. Hopefully

you'll get some good responses. In the meantime, check out the " files "

link on the left. There is a word doc in there called " tips to getting

reauthorized for Xolair. " The tips came from Greg, who is an HR person

at wherever he works and works with insurance companies a lot. Greg

doesn't post often any more, although I understand he lurks

occasionally. Greg was with us at the beginning and got incredible

benefits from Xolair within about 3 weeks of starting and no longer

considers himself asthmatic. Greg, if you're lurking, let us know how

the kids are doing - your baby boy must be about 3 now.

Good luck trying to get reauthorized,
