Guest guest
I'm glad you added that. For someone who is in distress there are other options--even if it means going a little out of the way. Most insurance companies that I've dealt with in the past welcome a second opinion and some even require it for certain things. I can't imagine not having another option for an allergist or pulmonologist, but then I live in a big city with several big medical centers, so I am blessed in that regard. Going to another allergist or pulmo a few miles away might be worth it for your piece of mind. Doug --------------------------------- Everyone is raving about the all-new beta. Guest guest
I was seeing a great allergist who said the same thing. He said he couldn't treat me anymore because I was too severe and he was out of options. I saw a few other pulmos who said I was at maximum treatment. This one has done numerous tests and tried changing my treatments a bit. He is the one who suggested Xolair but then pulled it after 6 months. So it's not that I don't trust what he is saying, I just don't really care for him. But I don't want to repeat all the tests and everything and since he knows my history I will just have to stick with him. Adah Voigt <asthmatic50@...> wrote: I'm glad you added that. Guest guest
I'm sorry it hasn't worked out for you. It sounds like you might have a doctor who isn't completely sold on xolair yet. At any rate I pray that the meds you are on begin to help you and you can get some relief. Adah <pirates_ej@...> wrote: I was seeing a great allergist who said the same thing. Guest guest
I have also been told repeatedly I " m on maximum medical therapy. I have considered going to National Jewish or Mayo. Like all of us here, I am tired of tests. My doctor upped my Xolair back to the maintenance dose (thank God) and I am doing better. For some reason he cut it back to 300mg every two weeks from 375 and the 75 really makes a huge difference. What dose were you on when you were getting the Xolair?
