Guest guest
I just refilled my Maxair inhaler a month or so ago so am not sure what is going on. My Rx mail order company still shows it available too. For those with a dairy allergy, as the steroid inhalers moved to CFC-free ones, they started using lactose in them. Advair I am fairly sure still has it in them. I know that for most people lactose (a sugar) is not a problem, but for those with a severe dairy allergy, the lactose can be an issue as there are still traces of dairy proteins in it. Vinegar, wine and grapes have naturally occurring sulfites which can be an asthma trigger. Aspirin also can be an asthma trigger. Neither of these are allergic reactions but a sensitivity. NSAIDS also trigger asthma for me, so Tylenol is my pain relief and but it doesn't do much for inflammation - alas, another need for prednisone for me at times. (Ice is my best friend as an alternative.) BTW, there is ketchup made without vinegar but you will need to look around for it. Same is true with BBQ sauce. I find I can handle rice vinegar much better than standard white, balsamic or red wine vinegar. Apple cider vinegar works too. I have an ENT appt this week as I too have experienced vocal changes. I used to sing with Sweet Adelines and every October I would experience vocal changes - unfortunately competition of some sort was usually at the same time. Now I teach preschool and have 5 kids of my own, so my voice is needed. I lost it during a cold/asthma flare at Thanksgiving, and it hasn't been the same since. B. - 3 Xolair shots but have been sick since I started so hard to tell if they are helping..
