Guest guest Posted January 14, 2007 Report Share Posted January 14, 2007 I hear you on fireplaces. I dread this time of year because of the fireplace smoke hazard to me. I live in an affluent area and nearly all the homes here " have to have " fireplaces to be chi-chi enough. So I am surrounded by people burning wood (and worse, those chemical " logs " from the corner grocery) 9 months out of the year even though I am in AZ in the warm lower desert that doesn't get that cold usually (exception today, we had a hard freeze but it's been over 15 years since that last happened...) And you can tell non-asthmatics about this until you are blue in the face, they don't get it and frankly, they just don't care if we can't breathe. Smokers were the same way when our laws let them dominate every restaurant and bar. Non-asthmatics just can't understand what we go through. Now if they would just ban fireplaces, perfume, chemical fragrances in soaps, detergents, lotions, etc..... sigh.... Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
