Guest guest
Hi, I'm new. Today I went to a new allergist, because I seemed to be developing more food sensitivities. But first a little history: I'm 32, have had asthma since age 16, it has been under control for 10 years by use of flovent. I have had allergies for as long as I remember, they were all of the airborne-type variety until about six years ago. I became very seriously allergic to eggs. I also developed acid reflux in the same time period. About three years later, I developed allergies to: cabbage, citrus, tomatoes, beef, soy, peanut, hazelnut, and pecans. None are as bad as eggs, and I've had to exclude soy and the nuts from my diet. I have been having trouble with the following foods lately: wheat, corn, other nuts. This prompted my visit to the allergist. It's hard to play detective if you think any/all of these foods may be causing issues. Also, my allergy shiners are darker than ever...getting worse all the time. Today he told me about Xolair, I'm a perfect candidate...I'll be finding out in a month or so whether or not my insurance will allow it. He told me that there's a good chance I will be symptom free for many of my complaints and I'll even be able to eat eggs! Has any one else had this much good " luck " ?
