Guest guest
My Xolair finally arrived - 2 days short of a month since my doctor and I decided I should try it. The biggest problem was with the intermediary groups - the insurance, once we called, made it clear that it would be approved - just had to use the right pharmacy and fill out papers and apply. The ins. was the least of the hassles. The biggest hurdle was going through SPOC and several drug companies who constantly mixed up my info (personal as well as ins) and left me mentally and physically exhausted. Several were rude and acted like they didn't want to be bothored. I cannot start the Xolair now because of serious important issues in my personal and business life; cannot take a chance on a reaction until I have time " to be sick " just in case I react. I'm hoping to start in early to mid March. I will be injecting it at home from the very beginning although there will be a nurse present at least the first time. The doctor felt I was perfectly capable of handling it. I will, though, wait until a family member is around in the evening before I do it without a nurse. It saves me $45 on doctor co-pay although that was not really the issue. Well, one hurdle passed; hoping to get some relief eventually!
