Guest guest
1. Most of us have high levels of IgE. Xolair binds to IgE so that it can't start the allergic cascade, but it takes time to do so. 2. FOlks with high levels of IgE are more at risk of allergic reaction than the rest of the population - any type of allergic reaction for any reason. 3. Experiencing increase in symptoms due to a delay in receiving your Xolair means (according to my doc) that my body is still manufacturing IgE and the unbound IgE is what's making me sick, not the Xolair. After three plus years on Xolair and a total of three delays in getting my Xolair, I have found this to be true for me. 4. Prednisone is evil and it can cause a lot of trouble when you stop taking it, even if you are good about tapering slowly. SO, those of you considering not taking Xolair b/c you are having some trouble, need to talk to your own doc and, like Doug said, do a risk benefits analysis. All I can tell you is that my life without Xolair sucks. My life with Xolair is pretty darn great. Addy Group co-owner
