I am looking for something to improve the asthma and am wondering if anyone takes more than 2 puffs daily of Serevent Accuhaler. Recently I inadvertently used it for a third time and asthma was the best it had ever been and stayed that way for 24 hours. (I take everything but the kitchen sink anyway: theophylline, Volmax, Pulmicort (and recently added QVAR), serevent, singulair, claritin)Have been using duoneb 4 times daily. As all of you have probably experienced, asthma is ruining my life and has especially done so since November. Any suggestions about something else I can try? Spiriva didn't work. --------------------------------- Looking for earth-friendly autos? Browse Top Cars by " Green Rating " at Autos' Green Center. Guest guest
I am taking Asthmanex, theophylline, loratidine, ranitide, Zyflo, advair 500, guiff/phenalyn, asteline, rinocort, promethazine, nebbing 4-8 times a day, and still end up on predisone every few weeks. I started Xolair last month. My asthma is out of control. But I am very blessed to have a Dr. who has allowed me to have vials of epi and self inject to stop attacks. I don't even own a rescue inhaler. Right now, I can't control my disease. But this let's me control my life. I am not living in the ER or Dr's office. > > I've been on Xolair 1 1/2 years. Guest guest
I have a sensitivity to Serevent so my allergist started me on Foradil which lasts 12 hours. I generally inhale the powder when I get up in the morning and when I return home from work; generally around 5:30 pm or so. Try this, It works quite well for me. I also use QVAR in conjunction with the Foradil which seems to work a little bit. I am also on 20 mg of prednisone every other day which I hope can be discontinued sometime in the near future. Guest guest
I also take the Foradil and have had great success with this. As a matter of fact at the rate I am going I may be down to just the Foradil and the Zolair soon. I am weaning off the Theophylline right now, which will be great since I am so sensitive to it. I am tired of the headaches that I get when my levels are off. --- Steve Zimmerman <steve@...> wrote: > I have a sensitivity to Serevent so my allergist > started me on Foradil > which lasts 12 hours. Guest guest
Royal - the combination of Foradil and Pulmicort work pretty well for me - but they have to be taken together - I guess they sort of work with each other. Singulair didn't help and I reacted poorly to Spiriva. However, I don't really have much problem with asthma during the day, but at night in bed, I have the most incredible assortment of sound effects - if I don't take the Foradil and Pulmicort, the virtual symphony keeps me awake.
