Actually, Xolair DOES help allergies - the same mechanism that

prevents allergic asthma prevents a number of allergic responses, any

that are IgE mediated anyway. IgG mediated responses (like food

allergies) and chemical sensitivities will not improve with Xolair.

My severe allergic rhinitis/sinus disease is much improved thanks to

Xolair.

Still gonna use my allergic card to avoid raking leaves, thank you!

that's awesome that xolair is helping you so much! isn't it nice to do

" normal " things and not have to think right away " where's my inhaler? " . its like

getting your life back!

just a sidenote -- xolair definately helps allergies. i'm super super super

sensitive to horses, and after 3 years of xolair, i can't be around them

still.....but i've got a one year old black lab puppy and he doesn't cause me

any problems (and i always tested very sensitive to dogs).

glad to hear you're doing so well! thanks for sharing your story!

almost a year now. I had nasal surgery back in June for a deviated

septum and to clean out all the junk. Found out I had a bone deformity

that was blocking the nasal cavity from being able to clear. That was

why I was constantly getting sinus infections. Any way after nearly a

year on Xolair I feel great. My asthma and allergies are so much

better. Today we cleaned out the garage. Spent 6 hours in the dust and

dirt and dead bugs and never once had to use my inhaler. It was a small

miracle. I was amazed. Last week we worked in the yard raking leaves

and I was around dried pine needles. Something I have always had

problems being around. They really make me wheeze. I didn't have one

problem. I guess I will have to really test it and see how I do around

cats and horses! I know the Xolair doesn't help allergies. Maybe I am

growing out of them after some 40 years! But it sure has changed my

life with not having to deal with Asthma.
