Guest guest
It is not possible to become immune to xolair. Your body does not develop a tolerance to it like it can to pain meds (morphine) for example. Many things trigger asthma including infection. So, if you got a viral or bacterial bronchitits that is enough to render cause asthma symptoms as these conditions cause the release of inflammatory mediators that trigger bronchospasm. The asthmatic response can be triggered other than through mast cell degranulation. So likely once you recover from the bronchitis you will feel that you are back to your new baseline level. __________________________________________________
Guest guest
This past January I felt as though Xolair stopped working. As it turns out, it was the fact that we had 60 degree weather when it should have been 20 degrees. Xolair is a very effective medication but it isn't a cure. If your case is anything like mine your current condition will pass and Xolair will begin working again. Hang in there, better days are ahead. sewgordon <SGordon262@...> wrote: I have been on xolair for 8 months . I am on my second round of antibiotics but my wheezing has bee really bad. I feellike my asthma is out ofcontrol but my doctor thinks it is just an infection. Guest guest
I was exposed to a ton of mold in early October 2006 and had one of the worst (and longest) bouts of allergic asthma ever. My doc said that my body continues to make unbound IgE for Xolair to latch onto and that the huge mold exposure was more than I could take even on Xolair. I think that it's true what others have said - Xolair is a tremendous treatment, but it is not a cure - we are all still prone to infection and to reactions if exposed to enough allergens or under the right circumstances.
