Guest guest
It was June 2004. My last major asthma flare up. I was getting ready for a business trip to Texas. I had nebbed quite a few times that morning with albuterol and I was shaking like a leaf. I called my allergist and he said to go right to the ER. I arrived 15 minutes later at 11:20 AM. When the ER doc walked into the exam room, he told me that he had already been in touch with my allergist AND my family doctor. My family doctor arrived at noon. She had already been in contact with my allergist and they both ordered a soluamderol (sp) drip and some Xanax to calm me down. My family doc said that she would keep me overnight for observation. She came in to see me again at 6 PM, then again at 6 AM the next morning to dismiss me. The next week during my xolair visit to my allergist, we sat down and had a talk about taking too much albuterol. We have a small town county hospital here just across the river from 2 major medical centers. I always choose the smaller hospital There was NO waiting only good service. The administrator is also a personal friend. I am very blessed. Now, I have no more need to go to the ER for asthma anymore thanks to 3+ years on xolair.
