Guest guest
If I were you, then the next time you receive your Xolair shots, I would wait in the doctor's office for a minimum of an hour if it's convenient for you. Better safe than sorry. Just to have them look it over. You never know, you could be having a similar reaction as Karin, and maybe having a latex reaction, or a reaction to the cap? At any rate, definitely let the doctor know and possibly increase your wait time. If you can't increase your wait time, then see if you can't make your Xolair appointment earlier in the day, and then go back later on when you think the reaction is at it's peak so the doctor can get a really good look at the injection site. Best of luck, please keep us informed! ~ -------Original Message------- From: Misty Lynn Date: 02/03/07 20:38:59 Subject: [ ] Re: Ouch.. Swelling and sore?? Thanks for the replies. I did not test for chinese hamster I don't think. Also it's been 24 hours since my shot and it's just a local reaction I don't think going to the ER is necessary but I will try to call the doctors office on Monday. Although by then the reaction should be gone I hope. I do worry bout it because I had an anaphylactic reaction to my allergy shots, while i know the chances are sooo much slimmer with Xolair than with those it still worries me. I did ask the nurse when she gave it to me if it was normal and she said she assumes so even though she's never seen it happen before. I do wait 30 mins after each shot and all so theyre careful but I'm one of those people who have delayed reactions. The swelling and all usually doesn't show for atleast an hour or so.
