Guest guest
I have an Epi-pen and my doctor is going to make me start waiting 2 hours, so you're lucky hehe.. Of course I have history of anaphylactic reactions sooo I guess that has something to do with it. I'm worried bout being able to get my shots though because with having to wait 2 hours, I might be starting a new job and my doctors office is atleast 30 mins away on a good day and i'll be working til 2-2:30, office closes at 4:30 most days. Any suggestions??? I NEED to have this job so I can't turn it down. Otherwise I'll have to go off of Xolair anyways. > > My daughter went for her third shot yesterday and came home with an epi- > pen prescription. Guest guest
My doctor is doing the same thing. He said the FDA is strongly recommending it but not requiring it. atcuddy <platts500@...> wrote: My daughter went for her third shot yesterday and came home with an epi- pen prescription. Guest guest
Talk to the nurses in the doctor's office and see if they can work something out with you. Good, Luck.... Sr. Volz, C.R. Guest guest
If the office closes at 4:30, when do they stop taking patients? i.e., they might let you get there at 3:30, mix and inject and wait while they're getting the office in order before they actually leave. It's really a question of whether they actually leave the premises at 4:30. Could they make arrangements for you to just sit in at another doctor's office the last 45 minutes or so or someplace else if they're determined to leave at 4:30? If you've actually had an anaphylactic reaction to xolair then definitely you need close observation with emergency equipment & trained personnel. I had some severe reactions to desensitization shots but xolair is totally unrelated and have had no problem w/first shots (I get two at a time). In talking to them about the logisitics of the matter you might point out that NOT getting the shots could/will be harmful to your health so is there perhaps some way to accomodate your special need. Good luck! > > > > My daughter went for her third shot yesterday and came home with an > epi- > > pen prescription. Guest guest
Sorry I better clear that up a little better. My anaphylactic reaction was to my allergy shots not the Xolair. But I did break out with hives/rash after my last shot and sooooo I have to wait. > > > > > > My daughter went for her third shot yesterday and came home with > an > > epi- > > > pen prescription.
