Delayed Reactions - Average Time To Obtain Relief - Xolair

Now that I'm finally on Xolair a couple thoughts have come to mind and I

would like to hear what others have experienced.

1. I've read that anaphylaxsis is much more likely to occur in repeat

injections of Xolair (something like 60% ?) as compared to the first

injection (something like 40%). These percents of course are of those

who had a significant reaction to Xolair (.1%) - not just of those who

received Xolair. How many people have had a delayed reaction - i.e.,

later than 2 hours after injection? I didn't feel there was any

reaction at all but I guess I'm a tad bit nervous now about future

injections.

2. I tend to have delayed reactions to allergy triggers. For instance,

this past Fri. I had my first Xolair injections and thought I actually

felt a tad bit less allergic (?!?!) so " tempted fate " by going for a

hike in the country and woods 2 days in a row. The next day I woke up

w/a sinus headache. Really, it could have been much worse overall so

I'm still thinking Xolair helped.

3. How fast does it take (on average) to get relief using Xolair? What

influences the length of time and amount of relief? I've read that I

should expect at least several weeks. What is it based on? How bad the

allergy was to begin with? Amount of allergens exposed to?

4. Why was I told that if I missed my shot by more than 3 days I should

call my doctor first? (I think this came up in a previous post) My

understanding is that it's the same drug prepared in the same way and

given at the same dose so why is there a big deal about being late other

than having a return of symptoms?

5. Does Xolair cause sleepiness? Probably it was just the hike in the

country (more exercise than what I'm accustomed to) and allergy attack

but I felt like I could have slept 15 hours today!

Thanx, and good health!
