Ahna, I don't know what everyone else does, but I push the contents down under the liquid when I first pack it in the jar. Then I leave it totally alone until it's ready to refridgerate. Guest guest
I use the recipe from Sandor Katz' book Wild Fermentation. I usually throw in a few more or less items based on what I have available. It's always an 'in season' creation and always varies a bit. I have trouble with the heat levels though, usually it's not hot enough for me! > > I just put my very first ever batch of home made kimchi to bed to ferment for a few days. I have never tried this before and am looking forward to seeing how it turns out. I added some garlic scapes to it too! Does any one else make their own kimchi? If so can you please share recipes? > > Kimi > ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ > " Stand at the crossroads and look; > ask for the ancient paths, > ask where the good way is, > and walk in it, > and you will find rest for your souls' " > > ( 6:16). > > > __________ Information from ESET NOD32 Antivirus, version of virus signature database 5210 (20100619) __________ > > The message was checked by ESET NOD32 Antivirus. > > http://www.eset.com > > > >
