Guest guest
I haven't found any reports online of anyone being able to make rice milk yogurt. I tried almond milk but got clumpy stuff floating on clear liquid and threw it out. I don't want to waste coconut milk too, so I'm wondering if anyone has been successful making yogurt from coconut milk.? I mean the canned stuff, not homemade coconut milk, nor coconut water, and I mean by adding yogurt, not making kefir, which I don't know how to do yet. Guest guest
Hi Alina, I ferment my coconut milk with Kefir grains, and it gives me a nice, thick and yummy yogurt like end product. Try this, http://www.smallfootprintfamily.com/2009/04/25/homemade-coconut-milk-yogurt/ ROsa > > I haven't found any reports online of anyone being able to make rice milk yogurt. Guest guest
Thanks, Joan. The post mentions a brand with no preservatives. Have you used another brand with preservatives? I can get Chaokah brand, but I wonder if the preservatives kill the yogurt cultures or not. I assume the honey in there is prebiotic, for the cultures to eat. Guest guest
Alina, I am running out to work, so no time to post details, but on the GAPS list I am on, they make coconut yogurt successfully. I'm sure I can find and post the recipe. Also my friend Sara, on both that list and this one, is fermented coconut milk very nicely, or it might be homemade coconut cream. Maybe she will find this and post her [labor intensive] method. Millie
