Guest guest
did they measure your total igg or the subclasses? pjboucher2001 <pjboucher2001@...> wrote: Jane...you mentioned IGG in one of your previous posts. My family dr. said that my IGG was low and she is retesting it. I will have to be referred to an immunologist if my family dr. thinks there are any big concerns. Pamela P.S. I will admit to being a former smoker. I was brought up in family with both parents smoking and I smoked for 7 years (age 14-23). Interesting enough, my asthma did not cause me too many problems until my late 20's! --------------------------------- Food fight? Enjoy some healthy debate in the Answers Food & Drink Q & A. Guest guest
I'm not too sure about that She just mentioned that my IGG was low...I saw the lab report and it was 5.88..I am in Canada, so I'm not sure how it was measured. I believe normal was 10 and above. Pamela Jane...you mentioned IGG in one of your previous posts. My family dr. > said that my IGG was low and she is retesting it. Guest guest
I'm curious about these other immunoglobulin tests and their meanings. About 1-1/2 yrs ago my platelet count was 405 (high) and absolute eosinophils were high at 653. My Immunoglobulin G, subclass 2, was normal - just barely at 528 w/cutoff at 530. My Immunoglobulin M was 53 (range 48 - 271). My Tenuis (M6) IGE is in the high range at 404. I know that different labs use different scales and wonder if my tests would have taken on a different meaning w/a different lab? Vitamin B6, B12, and D were all low (below normal). My IgE was 405. My skeletal muscle titer AB was just into the too high/over the limit level at 1:40 (normal is less than 140). I wonder if these things are interrelated somehow? My doc thought that Xolair might help with several of my different problems including the obvious major allergies. Jane...you mentioned IGG in one of your previous posts. Guest guest
Do you know if she is testing your Igg subclasses> Total Igg can be low normal but that can be because one subclass is elevated whereas the other subclasses are low. And this can be a cause of chronic infection.
