Guest guest
I had a thought here. How many of us had sleep problems before hand?! I used to wake up 4-5 times per night before I was on Xolair. Either due to not breathing properly OR from massive heartburn from all the meds I was on. Maybe it's not a side effect, but MAYBE we're all just catching up on the sleep we lost for all those years pre Xolair?! --- uca79iii <bme1979@...> wrote: > The only shot that puts me to sleep is the one that > they gave me when > I was in the hospital the last 3 times for bad flare > ups. Guest guest
I have had sleep problems in the past but I could still function during the day. Since I started the shots though, the following week I just feel like I am in slow motion. I know that if I put my head down for 3 seconds I would be out like a light. It is a struggle to just make it through the day. As a matter of fact somebody else on here mentioned this a few months ago and I think I was the only who responded in the affirmative. That and weight gain have been the two major side effects for me. I have put on 15 pounds despite walking for at least 2 miles every day. That has been very frustrating. I don't know if it is a direct result of the shots or just age but I did notice that it was listed as a side effect on one of the websites I looked at. (I guess I would rather blame the shots then believe all the work I am doing to lose this stupid weight is just not working!) Jeannie --- K K <grneyyedlady@...> wrote: > I had a thought here. Guest guest
It is interesting that you talk about losing sleep and weight gain. I have been taking Xolair for about a year now and as I think back I have been having a lot of sleepless nights and difficulty staying awake during the day also. I attributed it to simply being a light sleeper and waking up whenever my dog sneezes. Maybe Xolair is the problem along with all the meds I am taking. I would be interested to know how many others taking Xolair have experienced this problem also. I went to the " polls " section of teh group page and found that I was unable to start a poll. Apparently, only the moderators can start polls. If there is a way to create a poll can someone publish the following question for me? If you are taking Xolair, what side effects have you experiened? 1. Loss of sleep (waking up many times during the night) 2. Difficulty staying up during the day 3. Weight gain because of Xolair 4. Mood swings 5. Lack of endurance or enthusiam 6. Don't know 7. Other type of side effect Thanks Steve Steve Zimmerman Have a Good Day 785-296-6947 -----Original Message----- From: [mailto: ] On Behalf Of Gail s Sent: Monday, April 02, 2007 9:27 AM Subject: Re: [ ] Sleeping after a shot I have had sleep problems in the past but I could still function during the day. Guest guest
I have created Steve's poll. I would suggest that anyone experiencing sleep issues once starting Xolair should report them to both their Xolair physician AND their GP. Remember that we take a lot of meds for our allergies and asthma that can mask other conditions, particularly pred but sometimes antibiotics also. I already reported that I experienced adrenal fatigue when I started Xolair and no longer needed pred. That passed after 3-4 months (alas, the only treatment is more pred) and now I've got more energy than I ever have. Unfortunately, I've ALWAYS been a bad sleeper, but that has improved some with Xolair. Also, unfortunately, that early onset arthritis that is common in my family started showing up once I no longer needed pred. It's always something. Take care, all, Addy Group co-owner who's never experienced any side effects with Xolair. > > > > > The only shot that puts me to sleep is the one > > that > > > they gave me when > > > I was in the hospital the last 3 times for bad > > flare > > > ups.
