Guest guest
Suddenly winter broke in the Northeast. I was delighted to spend a little time outside in balmy spring weather. But then it started ... the scratchy throat, watery eyes, sneezing, runny nose, swollen sinuses building painful pressure. Pollen count reports were registering very high for my area. The gates of hell had opened wide. Within hours it got so bad I called my doctor in desperation and asked to go on Prednisone. Five hours after my first dose of Prednisone it's all like a bad dream behind me. The magic steroid worked it's wonders again. And now I'm sad because I've been on Xolair since last summer and I was expecting that the spring allergy trashing I'm used to wouldn't happen. On the plus side my breathing peak flows have unbelievably risen to well above normal for my age and height and even through today's trashing my peak flow held up in my green range. Thankfully I didn't have an asthma attack, just one dosie of an allergy attack.
