Guest guest
Hi Sam, welcome to the group! I chuckled when you said " I can manage and understand ADHD But ASD is a completely different ball game." I was the other way around. We had a son diagnosed with ASD and learned all about that and then our other son was diagnosed with ADHD and I thought - oh boy, I need to start learning all over again!! But of course, you will learn and this is a great place for learning. There are many here who are so helpful and have so much knowledge to share! Estevan, SK Canada -- Hello and thank you Hi everyone, I'm new to the group and just wanted to say hi and thanks so much for allowing me to join. I'm Sam, mum of 4 lovely monsters, one of which has ADHD and recently diagnosed ASD. It's all new to me, I can manage and understand ADHD But ASD is a completely different ball game. It's so nice to be able to share our experiences with others in the same position as ourselves instead of those who haven't got a clue what lifes like with gifted children.Sam
Guest guest
Hello Everyone and Thank You for being here. I have been dealing with chronic back pain for 16 years. It became consistently chronic 5 years ago, almost to the day. Even though I tried to correct it before losing my business, it overtook me and began its devastation with unforgiving wrath. I became unemployed in the summer of 2004, thus beginning my plow through all of the resources available to my situation. I applied for disability and was turned down twice which is where I hired an attorney, to begin the arduous journey thru hell to get a fair hearing. I was fortunate to have friends and family that helped me through some of the darkest years in my life. It wasnt overwhelming help, but I got through it nonetheless. In May 2007, I finally got my hearing. The Judge and I were going directly back and forth. I could tell he was convinced of my unfortunate past and granted my disability. There is no way to describe those 3 years other than to say that 2 associate friends took their lives in very similar circumstances. I was only the 7th person in the southeast to receive a disk replacement called a Neodisk in 12/07, and even though 45 others nationwide have had successful surgeries and aftercare, I seemed to be the exception to the rule. Im not sure if its because of the amount of time it took to finally have surgery or what, but I am going to have my replacement replaced 6/30/08. I have also developed ringing in my ears since the surgery, and the pain is 2 to 3x more intense. This is only the beginning of resolving the problems and I need to be around people who know where im coming from. So, here I am Again thank you all....
