Guest guest Posted August 25, 2008 Report Share Posted August 25, 2008 Seretonin syndrome is directly related to the release of seretonin in your brain, something that narcotics and antidepressants do. It has nothing to do with relaxation. Narcotics and antidepressants also do not have a " relaxant " effect. I am also pretty certain that muscle relaxers do NOT cause seretonin syandome, as I am very familiar with this effect. I would check with your pharmacist but also with your pain doc or whomever is prescribing.
