Hi all, I haven't been in much recently, but wanted to drop in and seek

some opinions. I had three discs(C3-C7 removed)then everything fused

and a 4 level plate added. This was 12/28/07.

Since then, I have had a long and hard time healing. I finally got back

to my desk job mid May. The neck never felt " good " , but enough to be

able to drive back and forth to work with a difficult and painful work

day. Now, I am off work again with constant neck pain and shooting

nerve pain between the shoulder blades. The only way this is relieved

is complete relaxation of the neck.

My Nuerosurgeon has me now going to PT three times per week in hopes

that this will help. Anyone else dealing with this or something similar?

Dennis

Hi Dennis,

I had an ACDF on C6-7on May 8. I also have a metal plate. It is now 2

months and I also have pain in the back of my neck doing down to my

shoulder. I hope this is normal. The doctor says so but I don't know.

Hi Dennis,

I've had c6 fused and c3-c4 c4-c5 plated, and have been suffering with this for

almost 15 years. You have the same symptoms I have been dealing with for that

long, sometimes it feels like a twisting knife is between my shoulders, and the

spasams are terriable. My neck has a grinding sound, and it pops and cracks all

the time. I really hope you can get some relief I know the feeling very well. As

of yet after 3 surgerys I have found no relief...except for pain meds. I wished

I could offer you more hope than this, but I just don't like giving out false

hope. I will be getting a t-tube soon because I lost so much of my neck because

of disk disorder.

And you are right the only relief you can get s-times is rest. Thanks for

listening
