Guest guest
All, I just wanted to share something that finally seems to allow me to get my leg strength back without setting me back with inflammation problems. I got the idea from how they rehab race horses... Basically, I practice walking in my gyms pool at the depth around 4 1/2 to 5 feet. My left leg is all messed up from nerve damage and the calf muscle is very weak so I was told to walk but that also gave me inflammation problems. Now I am practicing walking in the pool and it takes all the weight off my spine but still gives my legs plenty of resisitance to fight against. The bottom line I am finally starting to build up some calf strength so I can walk without a limp. The muscle is just so tight and weak but in the pool I can stretch it and strengthen it and come out with no adverse consequences. I still use a flexable cold pack on my low back (where I had my disc herniation & surgery) just as a precaution. So if you are in the same stage as me and are having problems with walking and the consequenses try it I think you will like it. -
