Guest guest
I was finally allowed to see a different neurologist last Friday. I had been stuck in this loop of doctors where I live; who, for whatever reason, have decided most of what I complain about is " all in my head " . Of course, it didn't stop me from having 3 back surgeries.. but I digress. My physician's assistant is the one who pushed for this new doctor (she actually believes me) and ordered MRI's of my cervical, thoracic and got copies of my last lumbar. I picked up those copies before my visit with the new doc, to take with, and naturally.. I read the reports. I feel hurt and very angry at what I found out - I've been telling my doc's that, in addition to my low back problems, my neck has hurt like heck for the last 2+ years! One guy offered up the solution of digging some nerve out of my neck, but I thankfully passed on that suggestion. Anyway.. I have 2 herniations at C4/C5 & C5/C6 that apparently have caused " severe " spinal stenosis and " significant " spinal cord flattening because of it. I also have bone spurs in that area as well - which explains the crunchy pain feeling I experience when I sneeze or cough or just move.. sometimes. This new neurologist I saw was somewhere(I'm guessing)between 70-80 years old. He spent an entire hour with me and asked me questions about every system in my body. He was nice, respectful and kind. I guess I'm still in a bit of shock over how fabulous this man was. He didn't give me a diagnosis that day, because he wanted to spend more time going over my MRI's and he two pages of notes he took during my visit. I'm hopeful something will come out of this. I believe I have Isaac's Syndrome brought on by untreated peripheral neuropathy. Has anyone ever heard of it/been diagnosed with it? My legs twitch/vibrate/buzz/ all the time. My previous doctor told me it was Restless Leg Syndrome - which I knew was wrong. I don't feel compelled to move my legs; they do it on their own. OK - sorry for the lengthy rant.. but I feel better. I hope everyone has a great & tolerable day!
