Guest guest
I just thought I would publish something positive. I am 53 and have had 3 surgeries. This last disc herniation really knocked the wind out of my sails since it went past pain to a lot of numbness and weakness. Needless to say, like many people going through these types of injuries, I was depressed and could not see the light at the end of this tunnel. It has been about two months since my surgery. I have gotten a lot of my feeling back but certainly not all. I have been pushing myself to exercise " safely " which means mostly in water and doing walks. I was just recently given the green light to do some light bicycle riding. I am certainly not without pain and weakness in my left leg but it is SLOWLY getting better. Part of it is just accepting what I have and working with it. Of course, I would like to feel all my foot and back of my leg and wish it never happened but the reality is it did an so I am learning to move on and try to get the other muscles to pick up the slack. I finally am finding some joy in life which I wasn't sure I ever was going to again. One side note.. since I swim almost every day now. .I found a very cool water proof MP3 player on the web so now when I ocean swim I can listen to music. In the water I almost feel " normal " and the sound quality is great! If you want more information on the unit I purchase just email me. Stay Well and there is Hope! -
