Guest guest
, I've been there too. I how how frustrating and angering it is. I hope that all will work out for you. In the past I have called and I went and picked up the script from the office days before my appt, then saw them a few days later at my appointment. Especially if it was THEIR mistake. --- Babbitt From: cathy mccarthy <bbhorsetack@...> Subject: stretching meds spinal problems Date: Wednesday, January 19, 2011, 5:33 PM Â I am in a bind (and in alot of pain). My pain clinic opened a new office very close to me. So the last appt. I had was in their Wolfeboro ofice. I got a new CRNA, PA-C... or whatever all those different lettera mean. He seemed nice, but had never had a person with my condition. He changed some of quantities of what I have been getting of my prescriptions. I did not notice at first. Never had a problem with that in 7 years. Now I am not due for the next appt. until Monday. SOOOO will run out of the pain drugs the next couple days, will have to go without which I can not do. I will end up in the ER... or something. Monday, I have to be in court 2 - 3 hours away from me... It is a situation where I am trying to save my home... not somethings I can miss. The Wolfeboro office did say they would give me an appt. 8:00 Monday morning. so I could get refills that morning before driving 2 hrs. to court... but GD it! WHO GAVE THEM THE POWER to do that? It is my body, my life. Why do they care what drugs I take??? Yes, I used a few more maybe this month. I shoveled snow, killed my back. But I can't look out the window and watch my 86 yo father do it by himself. Shhheeessshhh. Just had to vent. Guest guest
you have to be very careful with your meds. If you told the doctor you took a few extra eh might cancel you as patient then where would you be? If you need more meds ask him before it becomes an emergency. Guest guest
Janice is right. Unfortunately we DON'T have the control that we should over our pain control. BUT, finding a doc to prescribe for you is HUGE. Maybe you don't know HOW huge until you don't have one. They CAN discontinue you as a patient. When you go, tell them that you need a little more than your regular dose because of the snow shoveling. If you are open and honest with them it's far better than them not knowing why you ran out early and then they assume the worst. Tell the doc that you understand that there's guidelines to responsible med taking, but you didn't know what else to do. Tell them that your regular amount isn't enough, due to the physical nature of having to shovel snow, you took a little extra. In the future though, you should be careful to not take extra. I know it's easier said than done...I have a 500' driveway that is steep and turns. Trust me, I know. --- Babbitt From: Janice <faraway1@...> Subject: Re: stretching meds spinal problems Date: Wednesday, January 19, 2011, 6:46 PM Â you have to be very careful with your meds. Guest guest
I gave up home owning due to inablilty to keep up with the yard and shoveling and such...I know how hard it is. Seems I always do more damage to myself with the yardwork. " Without rabbits a rabbits foot would be nothing but a disembodied hand full of unidentified toes. Guest guest
I agree...it is sad when you can buy as much alchohol and cigarettes as you want but you have to shop very carefully to get a pain doctor who will allow you to live painfree. Guest guest
That is part of the problem, . I had a great doc. He was a navy corpsman for 20 yrs. Pain sufferer like all of us. He trusted me and actually looked up my disease. We tried many different meds. Most did not help. But I appreciated him trusting me that I was not a drug seeker. However, because I was reluctant to do injections (I have Nerve damage.. yes the SI is sore to the touch, it is not the source of my pain). It is hard to explain, but I have been dealing with it for 20+ years, and I do forget to mention some of the problems... they have just become part of my day to day living. But they are painful. So I recently got transferred to a different doc.... FUSTERATING!!!!! stretching meds I am in a bind (and in alot of pain). My pain clinic opened a new office very close to me. So the last appt.
