Guest guest
Inflammation can be reduced remarkably with BlockBuster All Clear metabolic enzymes. I chose to represent it; here's my site: http://www.goodhealth.nu/us/1400 Compare BlockBuster All Clear ingredients to any other enzyme blend on the market: http://tinyurl.com/8626f Also, injecting ozone along the spinal cord should help, like 80% relief; sorry I don't know who does it, probably a naturopath. Guest guest
I have met so many people with this disease. I have had 5 back surgeries. I am 60 and it all started when I was 20 so it's been 40 years of hell. I am pain free 99% of the time and I feel so guilty sometimes because I don't have the pain that some people have. I had 3 daughters all natural and when the last one was only 5 months old I had my first surgery. Mine came from a back injury although I have never been able to determine what happened to me.I really feel for everyone here I know it's not a party. Janice arachnoiditis Hi Janice. You took the words right out of my mouth. I was wondering the same thing just the other day and planned on posting the same question. Although I did have surgery on my cervical spine about 17 years ago the arachnoiditis is in the lumbar spine. I suspect it is a result of the two epidurals I had during childbirth 20 and 22 years ago, luckily I had my first child the good old fashioned way, natural, the way God intended. Unfortunately I read of a lot of women on these sites in the same boat but who knew? I met a gal on the Life with Arachnoiditis group on Facebook that is going to sue her doctor regarding the epidurals given during childbirth, I have no interest in going down that road. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ No virus found in this incoming message. Guest guest
I had the first of 3 surgeries 11 years ago. Yesterday was the 11th anniversary of my 2nd. I am so lost at this point. Physically things just continue down hill although I have learned to not let it be very consuming I am sure getting tired of this. When I was given an epidural for my youngest' birth (almost 18 yrs ago) it wouldn't take, just in spotty places. Mine could have come from a number of things. Guest guest
Sometimes we don't know why it happens to us I must have asked God a million times " why me Lord " but I can't get an answer. For uncontrolled pain you need to see a good pain doctor. There out there but you may have to look hard to find the right one. No one has to suffer undullable pain any more. It can be controlled. I have had some wonderful pain doctors every where I have lived over the years. I make an appointmenta dn I go in and tell the doctor up front I dont' want any drugs that day what I want is to interview him/her.I make sure they will honor my wishes without a fight. I will not allow any one to put another needle in my spine nor do I need more surgery I want pain relief and if we can't agree then I go elsewhere until I find the doctor that is going to be right for me. Try it as I have had 100% success. Janice arachnoiditis >> >> Hi Janice. You took the words right out of my mouth. Guest guest
I know in this group AT LEAST Janice, Kate, me, Deb and Sharon ALL have arachnoiditis. I know Janice's form (and I believe Deb's too) is adhesive arachnoiditis and so is mine. Is that what everyone else has too? > > > >> > >> > >> I have met so many people with this disease. Guest guest
each of us is different. If you are suffering so during hte day doesn't your doctor give you anything to help with the pain? You sound so miserable. Janice Re: arachnoiditis For the other people with this I have a couple of questions. Reading up on it it says that it is normally worse when you get up and then it is supposed to improve with exercise. Mine hurts when I get up and then goes downhill from there during the day, with the pain getting worse. I am only 43 so this is really hard to accept that this is it and that it won't get better. It also does not mention much the nerve issues, I have the pins and needles in my legs and also a lot of nerve pain and just wanted to see what symptoms other people had. Thanks ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ No virus found in this incoming message. Guest guest
I have a huge concern here for those in chronic pain whose life is being ruled by pain. There is help there is no reason fro anyone to have to suffer the way some say they are sufering. A good pain doctor will not allow you to suffer all day and night he/she will help you find the right drugs for you to get relief from the pain. You also have to have the right doctor you must interview your doctor to make sure he/she is on the same page as you and he/she must be willing to do what ever it takes to help you. Janice Re: arachnoiditis I'm sorry that you feel that way but please try to remember that there are tons of people that are in worse shape than people like us are. We all have our moments of why me. I was only 42 when I found out that I had arachnoiditis and had my first tethered spinal cord surgery. Life doesn't end just because you find out you have something that is chronic and progressive. DDD can actually be a very slow progression. Try to focus on what helps like exercise and diet if you have any weight issues and that will help a lot. Plus the exercise will help with the depression that comes with pain. Good luck and I hope you cheer up soon. Barb > > > I saw a neurosurgeon yesterday for a 2nd opinion, I do have ddd and have had one back surgery and was truely hoping that he would be able to to something. Turns out that is what I have and its really taken the wind out of my sails as I thought finially when seeing him that something could be done for my pain. Now I also feel why me, it seems life is so unfair. I am 43 and from what he was saying it is progressive. > > > ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ No virus found in this incoming message. Guest guest
Of course life must go on, we just deal and carry on with what we can. It could be a lot worse, a friend of mine has colon cancer and is being treated for that at the moment. the cold weather does not help, I feel like a weather man. I have a 6 and a 16 year old still at home and I get the house and stuff done it, just takes a long time. I still do things I enjoy and you sort of get used to the pain. Kate From: Janice Sent: Friday, November 12, 2010 4:28 PM spinal problems Subject: Re: arachnoiditis Hi Kate I take 30mg.s of methadone in the morning and 20 mgs. at night before bed. If I should do something that makes me hurt during the day I take 40mg.s of oxycodone but I very seldom use it. I probably tried at least 10 pain drugs before I got the methadone and it was like a miracle to me with no side effects either. I get a little sleepy once in a while but it's nothing I can't deal with. I am not saying that methadone is everyones answer but you have to find a doctor who is willing to experiment with you until you find the right drug at the right dose.I only know it works for me. Guest guest
Hi again , Who treats you? Your primary doctor, a pain management doctor or a neuro/ortho? Have you discussed with them that your pain is not adequately covered by whatever medication you are on? I hope you get your medication straightened out and that will help a lot. I hurt 24/7 so wherever you read that it hurts more in the mornings and then eases off is wrong and must just be the experience of one person. The pain of AA is all nerve pain because that is what Adhesive Arachnoiditis is. That is the reason that typical pain medications don't work that well at controlling the pain. So please don't feel like you are " different " because you don't feel better as the day goes on. As far as exercise goes. I believe that everybody should stay active because the more toned your muscles are the better equipped they are to deal with the pain. The lower your weight is the better your body will feel. So sorry if I ignored your actual question. I have nerve pain all day/night long. It does NOT get better during the day and it does not get better with exercise. Who told you that it does? Has anyone ever explained to you what AA? If you understand what it is and how it effects your body you would know that whoever said these things to you don't know anything about AA. The ONLY relief I have ever heard of anyone having from AA is with medication, an experimental holistic approach taken by Kovak (sp?), and now a surgery by a Dr. Warnke in Germany, but apparently that is more for people who have Tarlov Cysts. I hope that answers your question and I'm sorry I read your post so quickly I skipped over your question. I hope you are feeling better. Guest guest
Barb you were right on in your message to . I think she either needs to have a good open discussion with her current doctor and if he/she doesn't feel they can do anymore or offer the stronger drugs needed to relieve the pain of this disease then it might be time to look for another pain specialist. No one should have to live with the pain this disease brings with it. I have heard Arachnoiditis pain is associated with the pain from cancer. I know that before I found the right doctor and medications for me I was a laying on the floor screaming maniac a lot of the time the pain was horrible now I have virtually no pain. This may not happent o others but there has to be some sort of relief for those who are in unbearable pain. Just my opinion. Janice Re: arachnoiditis Hi again , Who treats you? Guest guest
I had a 2nd mri done after my surgery 2 years ago and the surgoen basically told me my nerves were agravated. He really blew me off on my symptoms and did nothing. So the 2 years went by with more pain and that is why I got a 2nd opinion. The 2nd neurosurgeon was the one that told me what I had. He had ordered another mri and it was the same herniated and bulging disks, it would have been nice if the 1st one had listened better and not left me like this for 2 years. My primary care physician is the one who manages my pain, she is really good but its not working too well. So now I know what is going on I am going to see a pain management doctor and get it better under control. Thank you all
Guest guest
Hooray for you you defunately need a pain specialist the primary doctors are reluctant to prescribe the stronger drug you will need to help with all that pain. Make sure you have an open conversation with the pain doctor before you make them your doctor. Tell them your not interested in injections in your spine of any kind. Ask their opinion they like it when you ask them questions. Janice Re: arachnoiditis I had a 2nd mri done after my surgery 2 years ago and the surgoen basically told me my nerves were agravated.
