Guest guest
Hmm, I'm wondering what kinds of tests you had, Vicki. MRI seems to be the minimal determination of problems. X-rays are worthless, IMHO. They didn't show any of the 4 problems that my husband has. I have a hard time understanding why any doctor would think a patient would be faking back-related pains/issues. What sane person would push for surgery on something that isn't there? Doesn't make any sense. And the docs would get their fees paid anyways. My husband goes to the neurosurgeon consult later this week. He has been in all stages of pain, from really bad (worse than the trip to the ER room) to " better than before I went to the doctor years ago " . Have you ever heard of somataform disorder? I'm wondering if this is what your doc(s) are thinking you have, but are not saying out loud. My husband was diagnosed with it several years ago during a hearing for something else. So they totally discounted his (previously documented) back problems. Nothing progressed until we an MRI and then they were saying a totally different diagnosis! I'm just glad we finally got the ball rolling in the direction it should have gone years ago. It looks like medical technology is finally catching up, just a little bit, to better treatment options for back-related problems.
