Guest guest
I am so sorry that some are experiencing side effects from Xolair. It is my prayer that everyone can get the help and relief that many in this group have received from this wonderful new medicine. When people ask me about side effects, my advice has always been: 1. Have a long discussion with your doctor 2. Stop taking Xolair if the side effects are too much for you. My friends, we must not forget that Prednisone is a lot harder on our bodies. For our new members, we have a name for it in here " EVIL CANDY " I can speak from experience... Prednisone is the ONLY asthma medicine I have had side effects from. Here is what years of taking prednisone did to me: 1. Cataracts at age 43 & 44. I had cataract surgery in 1997 and 1998. 2. Bone loss. Severe Cervical disk disese. I was almost paralyzed. 3. Weight gain, hyperactivity, irritablity, depression, grouchiness, just plain ol being mean to people for NO reason. 4. Type II Diabetes. One year after being on Xolair, I do NOT HAVE TO TAKE ANY MORE PREDNISONE! This was in 2004. How am I doing in 2007 you ask? 1. Type II diabetes under control. Last A1C was 6.0 2. Weight loss of 35 pounds. 3. Two Cervical disk fusion surgeries, 1998 and 2006 repaired the damage to C-4 through 7. 20/30 vision after cataract surgery. 4. My wife and family do not have to live with a grouch anymore (wink) I sure wish that Xolair had been out many years ago. I would not have had to take Prednisone all those years and have all those side effects, surgeries and major health problems. Praying that Xolair will work for you too Doug Group founder co-owner-moderator On xoliar since October 2003
Guest guest
Well xolair has done wonderful things for me. I got off prednisone 9 months after I started xolair... I had muscle aches and pains after getting off prednisone which now I am back to normal. Xolair wasn't causing the aches, being taken off prednisone was.I was tired as well . I was tired coming off of prednisone. It is not the xolair. I am happy to say I lost weight, about 9lbs. after being off prednisone 4 months. Sharon who can only attribute good things to xolair... By the way it's nice to breathe again. sharon In , " uca79iii " <bme1979@...> wrote: > > I am so sorry that some are experiencing side effects from > Xolair.
