I've also got a bad right hip. Had a discectomy and foraminotomy almost

two years ago, which did help with the pain, but there is still some

question about how much remaining pain is hip-related, and how much is back.

Kind

of hard to sort it out at times, since I've got bone spurs in position to

twang the nerves.

Hard to think about replacing a hip " just to see " how much, if any, it

really helps.

Nothing genetic hear, no one else in my family had either issue.

My question is do many of you on th e board also have

just

have bad luck, bad genes, or if the two go hand (of hip in hip...LOL) in

hand?

Thanks.

As an update I am doing a bit better lumbar spine wise. It is now 4 months

post

laminectomy and foramenotomy and some issues are lingeringyet (i have a

weird

lump feeling in mid back, and am still weak when I bend over, and still

have

lumbar pain, but still NO sciatica-yeah) and I am still doing PT, and my

rejection of the sutures continues too which is both painful and annoying.

But

overall I think I am doing good, I'm back to work and just having to take

it

easy. The Right hip is killing me though so I am hoping I can get that

done

within the year...I also seem to have shoulder issues continuing too -

UGH!

Subject: Other Joint issues issues with DDD?

Hi all - I have had both lumbar and Cervical surgeries and after the recent

Lumbar decompression I found that I also am in need of aright Total Hip

Replacement (THR). I had a left THR about 15 years ago but that was because of

a congenital defect. My question is do many of you on th e board also have

other joint issues? Especially those with DDD? I guess I am wondeing if I just

have bad luck, bad genes, or if the two go hand (of hip in hip...LOL) in hand?

Thanks.
