Guest guest
It sounds like your usual dose is 375mg, or 2 and a half vials of Xolair. This is normally given in three shots, usually every two weeks and is the generally accepted highest dose. Jo Ann, one of the Xolair nurses who posts here, has previously described how they calculate higher dosing for folks with excessive IgE and/or weight. Dosing is based on IgE levels and weight. Really high IgE scorers who weigh 130lbs or more normally qualify for 375mg every two weeks. You can go to www.xolair.com and look at the full prescribing information to see the dosing charge. It is a little bit misleading - Doug and I have IgE scores above the highest score on the chart and we get 375mg every two weeks. We have a few folks here on the low end of the chart who are getting a slightly higher dose than recommended normally b/c they didn't respond to the original dose. Like you, I have huge sinus inflammatory issues. I call it " severe persistent allergic sinus disease " because I keep showing negative on all tests/scans/xrays to prove that it's anything else. Xolair has helped ENORMOUSLY with this, but it has not cured it. Guest guest
Hi not-a-feller Addy There may be a common thread here. The ENT doc has gone out on a limb and said he feels my problems are the result of long- term sinusitis causing the allergy-like symptoms and the asthma. This kind of falls in place to me because my allergy tests don't really show anything that I'm all that allergic to, but yet I have all this bloody IgE running about in my cute little bod. The pulmonary doc isn't ready to sign off on that yet because my sinuses won't clear up completely, even after extensive prednisone. At Duke, they told me one of the most important things I could do is flush those rascals regularly, which I do, sometimes shooting more than a quart of water up there. It really helps. It will be interesting to see how this all works out. I wonder if there is any kind of a gender factor involved in this kind of a problem. Terry a.k.a.
