Guest guest
US News and World Report does an annual ranking of hospitals in any number of categories, including respiratory disease. National Jewish is just about always ranked #1, but all the Mayos (Becki - did you go to the one in ville, FL? I'm jealous), the Cleveland Clinic, s Hopkins and a number of others round out the top 25. Again, if you don't have a top respiratory research hospital in your area, check out your state's university medical center. Most of these will coordinate your long-term care with your local specialist so that you don't have to go back frequently and can save your $ (or at least some of them). Remember to keep in mind that consults with ENTs and Infectious Disease specialists can also be helpful (although not for me - I am a purely allergic mess). If any of us has recurring infections that our specialist is not treating or not treating successfully, a consult with an Infectious Disease specialist would probably be a good idea. Again, I'm just an allergic mess, so thank God for Xolair for me. Addy Group co-owner Standard disclaimer, yada, yada, yada. PS the best round of immunotherapy I ever had were the shots I got while I was a Duke student and saw an allergist there. He tested me for more allergens than any of the other 8 allergists I've seen in my life, and my serum was very specialized.
