Guest guest
Hi Schoolontherock, The last year and a half my asthma was very uncontrollable and my doctor and I talked about the option of National Jewish as well several times. Deep inside I wanted to go even though I was worried about the inconvience,$, and I felt down that everything was so bad that this was the only place that could help. I hope that the Xolair kicks in and you get better soon. Even though I am doing better now and have been off prenisone 2 months I wished going to National Jewish was an easy option for me if needed. I bet it will be hard to be away from your kids but in the longrun maybe this investment will help your quality of life and you can come back and enjoy your time with your children. I hope that even though the whole process is a hassale that NJH will help make things less complicated in the long run. Take care, Laurie -- In , " schoolontherock " <fromthebirdhouse@...> wrote: > > I got my third Xolair today. As yet, no improvement or reduction in > any meds. Guest guest
Schoolontherock, If it is any consolation, last October I went to National Jewish hospital in Denver, Colorado to determine the extent of my asthma. I found out that I had severe asthma. Fortunately, after evaluation I was able to remove a few of my medicines but still was told there may be times when prednisone will be needed to get me past the difficult times. So far, the difficult times have been less often than they were before. Probably because of the Xolair I am taking and being very responsible in taking the medications I am told to take when I am to take them. If you are concerned about going there don't be. It is well worth your while and may be benefical to you in the long run. Besides, the testing does not take all day, only a few hours. You then have the rest of the day to see the sites and go places. There may even be times when after discussing your problems with the doctor you have been assigned tests may be cancelled giving you more time to sight see. I was glad that I went. If you are curious and want to learn more about the hospital here is their web site: http://www.nationaljewish.org/index.aspx Good luck!! Guest guest
Hi: You have to give it more time. Three shots are nothing, hopfully it will kick in before the six weeks. Looking at my PFT, meds, and history, my Doc has decided to send me to National Jewish Hospital as an in-patient. It will take about 6 weeks before all the approvals come through. Is there any chance my miracle med Xolair will kick in before then? I really don't want to be in another state away from my kids for 2 weeks. I don't want to pay for all this. I don't want things to get any more complicated. --------------------------------- Ahhh...imagining that irresistible " new car " smell? Check outnew cars at Autos.
