This is an interesting question as I've wondered if long years of

gluccocorticoids (evil candy) aren't at least partly responsible for

mitral valve regurgitation, enlarged heart, and minor calcification of

mitral valve. My blood pressure is very high in doc's office.

In reading about prednisone (and this probably applies to the other

gluccocorticoids too), one of the side effects listed is hypertension

and fluid retention. I could see fluid retention as causing increased

blood pressure. Hypertension can lead to heart damage (at least that's

what one cardio told me) and the fluid retention I thought also put a

burden on the heart although it might be indirect.

What do you mean by heart effects? I am unsure of any heart-related

side effects of prednisone (
