Guest guest Posted May 7, 2005 Report Share Posted May 7, 2005 Iron mordant will turn anything brown/gray/black. When fabrics were dyed in cast iron pots, the colors all came out dark. If you use a glass or enamel pan and a bright mordant like chrome or copper, they will be brighter.
