I just started juicing yesterday. One with

breakfast, lunch and dinner and now one this morning. I just have to

find out if anyone else actually felt giddy after drinking so much. I feel

giddy! Off to the airport I go to pick up my mom.

Hi April,

It is always best to start these things out slowly. Sometimes just

jumping in can have some rather interesting effects, as you are already

finding out. Your body is used to eating and doesn't quite know what to

do with all the juice. Too, it depends on what exactly you juiced. The

giddiness could be caused by a spike in your blood sugar as juices get

the nutrients into the blood much more quickly than when you eat the

foods.

Just a thought, but next time you feel giddy eat something like bananas. ;-)

Thanks, Amber, Funny I was just thinking last night about doing a juice

routine. The cooked beets where OK... it's a start and should have some

nutritional/GB value. I was wondering if they had to be cooked first or not.

Just had

some oatmeal... set me of a little, but not much. There are many holistic

health professionals in my area. Years ago I called a popular one about the

gall

bladder matter and the receptionist basically told me to do the widely

publicized internet version of a fast/flush or, alternately, it would cost

$250.00

per visit to have their doctor monitor/advise me. I'm pretty

intelligent...except when hurting...men are baby's some of us...

I don't mind an initial $250.00 consultation fee, say, with $50.00

follow-ups plus vitamins, etc. But these practitioners are pricey at hundreds of

dollars a shot and insurance won't pay for it... so one has to be rich.

Regards,

Fran

I'm sure some cooked beets are fine, but for juicing, you'd want raw. I don't

think you should go very heavy on the beets. Carrot juice is wonderful (read

healthy and it tastes good too) and my husband (diabetic) can even drink a

little of it.
