Guest guest
forgot to add that if you got some of the cat saliva (from it sneezing in your face) in your mouth or inhaled.. ... then we're talking bacteria here... I definitely got a shot of something in the face but I don't think it got in my mouth. They call a cat's upper-respiratory a rhino virus, so wouldn't that just be a virus, like a "people cold", and not bacteria? I hit all the herbs, drank a bunch of osha root, echinacea etc. But I now have a full blown cold. Going to grab some garlic in a little bit. Guest guest
Oh, well....this is what I found on one site. I guess it's just a weird coincidence. Guess I owe Oreo an apology!!! Here are some diseases that don’t normally spread from pets to people: cat leukemia; cat immunodeficiency (sometimes called feline AIDS); distemper; hantavirus; heartworms; hookworms (animal); parvovirus; pinworms; systemic fungal infections; Lyme disease; and ’flu, colds, sore throats. Guest guest
Well, maybe not exactly his cold but the bacteria he is carrying could have got you....MorningGlory113@... wrote: I've not heard of being able to catch a cold from a cat... (I've never with all I've had)... did you have a window open last nite and it was cool?? and you and the cat both caught a cold??Nope, Suzi. Just a regular night sleeping. He sleeps right next to my head and he's had a cold (lots of sneezing) for about 4 days. Then one night I woke up to him sneezing and my face soaked with snot!! I wiped it off, went back to bed, and the next day, on the couch, he did it again! Within 2 days I was the one with the sneezing and runny nose plus a sore throat. I thought..Hmmmm....could I have actually caught his cold??Gloria
Guest guest
I've had sick cats in the past and never contacted it so I'm unsure. Then give those germs to the cats while petting them... and if they are wanting to cuddle... well can they catch them from us?? I have heard cat germs and people germs do not intermingle...and so far mine have not gotten sick.. sometimes I even think they are there to help draw it out of us... this last bout .. my cat layed on my chest alot while I was sleeping... My cat has the sniffles, and a few nights ago he woke me up a few times sneezing right in my face! I have been eating well, doing fine, and today I woke up with the worst cold! Sneezing, congestion, sore throat etc. I couldn't figure it out, except for maybe I got it from the cat...???????? Anyone ever have this happen? Is it possible?Gloria
