Guest guest
The yucca discussion gave me a little chuckle this morning. A few years ago, I decided I wanted a nice lawn probably was brain washed by the lawn chem people so anyway, I had my property bushwacked and then started mowing my grass. What developed was a bunch of yuccas.. I though, no problem, I will just dig them up as they were not part of my landscaping theme. HAHAHAHA...I started digging and found that the roots were seemingly miles long and almost as big around as my arm. Humm I said I'll just hatchet them to death. Another big laugh. The more I cut at them, the bigger and better thew grew!! I have since found my mind and decided that a lawn was not ecologicly sound..it did not attract the birds, doves, butterflys, etc. So, I just now never mow and let things grow wild. If anyone wants yuccas, you are welcome to come down here and take as many as you like. I would however rent a bulldover for the digging job. Guest guest
Yes Anne, they do have a root system.. it seems if you let them alone they don't seem to spread... at least here in Illinois... my neighbor has one and it really never goes anywhere..
