Hi Carol,

I have a pair, and I love them! They do so much for the body. Mine were developed by an orthopedic surgeon, so they are ergonomically correct. A friend who is a podiatrist said that they are the best thing you can do for your feet and legs.

They each weigh about 3 pounds, and you notice it for about the first 15 minutes of wearing them, but after that, you get used to them, and don't even notice it.

Like weight training, the resistance from the weights in the soles of the shoes increases bone density. They can help with the circulation and cellulite reduction in your legs. Because the weights are in the bottom of the shoes, it is much more healthy than ankle weights, which put stress on different parts of the ankle, and can be very damaging.

When you wear the shoes, you are increasing your basic metabolism by about 25%, which means you burn calories at an increased rate. If you walk in the shoes for 30 min, you burn about 300 calories. (29lb weight loss in a year if wearing them 40min a day, 3X week). It is also aerobic activity, and is good for the heart. I lost a good deal of weight from just wearing the shoes on a treadmill several times per week.

Because the weights are strategically placed, they pull on the muscle groups in the calves and thighs. They also pull the body in to the proper alignment, helping things like mis-alignment of the knees, and lower back problems, and gait problems.

BTW, I heard that the Bliss Spa in New York has a copy of these shoes that cost twice as much and they are their most popular item, so many people must be getting good results.
