Guest guest
Hi , According to ny herbal notes from Asutralasian College of Herbal Studies :- Yellow dock contains a hydroxy anthraquinone glycoside called Chrysophanic Acid which is responsible for its laxative action. It also contains the anthraquinone emodin, which has the opposite effect, thus checking the laxative action. Yellow Dock is a good example of herbs used to treat opposing conditions. Because of these 2 substances it acts as a regulator. -- I have not used it myself Of course it may not be suitable in your case, and also I guess you have not found the underlyiing cause for the diarrhoea have you? Did it stem from your liver problems? regards Persian On Sun, May 29, 2005 at 07:13:59 -0700, john wrote: > I've noticed that most uses for bowell problems, it > indicates as a laxative. owever, I have no problem > " going " . Guest guest
Good information. Thanks, Persian! I don't know if it was caused or is related to my past liver problems, but I wouldn't be surprised. At this point, I cannot remember if they both started at about the same time. I'll ask my wife, and also check some of my older journals. Peace, love, laughter --- Persian <persian13@...> wrote: > Hi , > > According to ny herbal notes from Asutralasian > College of > Herbal Studies :- > > Yellow dock contains a hydroxy anthraquinone > glycoside called > Chrysophanic Acid which is responsible for its > laxative action.
