astralagus or echinacea along with garlic cloves, super tonic would all help the immune system.

You can do a search in the message archives on mold to check what was written earlier.

Here is some info and 2 websites with more info.

9 ways to reduce mold in your home:

1. Clean surfaces where there is mold with bleach.

2. Fix all sources of leaks. Remember, mold thrives in damp conditions.

3. Install air conditioning in your home (dries the air out, making it more difficult for mold to survive).

4. Check houseplant soil, make sure it is not always very damp. Mold loves moist soil.

5. Keep firewood outside.

6. Pay special attention to the basement, which is the part of your home mold is most likely to be a problem. Keep it as dry as possible. You may want to keep an air purifier in your basement. An air filter will not destroy mold, but an ion & ozone generator will.

7. Clean the shower floor frequently to ensure that mold does not accumulate.

8. Clean the bottom of your fridge, and underneath it.

Note: The first 8 suggestions listed above can help to prevent the growth of mold in your home. However, if a significant amount of mold already exists in your home, then it will be difficult to remove the airborne mold spores with the methods listed above. These airborne mold spores can continue to reproduce and multiply without, unless you have an air purifier capable of effectively neutralizing and removing mold spores from the air, which leads us to the ninth recommendation:

9. Place an air purifier in your home that emits negative ions and ozone.

Negative ions and ozone are both capable of reducing the effects of mold. Negative ions are able to remove the spores from the air, to reduce the allergic reactions that you may suffer as a result of mold. It is the mold spores released by the mold, when inhaled, that cause these allergic reactions. Negative ions are much more effective than air filters (even HEPA air filters) at removing allergens, such as mold spores (Negative Ion/Ozone Air Purifiers vs. Air Filters <vs-hepa.htm>). Ozone has also been found to be lethal for mold.

Hi All

I know I have posted previously about mold. I have a friend on another list who is dealing with some serious mold issues in her rental house and cannot move just yet. The whole family is sick from it.

What would be the best way to strengthen the immune system or strengthen their bodies to deal with the affects of toxicity from mold.

The mold is inside the roof and walls and cannot be cleaned off.

They are on limited finances so cannot afford anything expensive.

Actually I think we are going to have to deal with it again too.

Any assistance would be appreciated.

We own a restoration company (water & fire) and we use a commercial ozone machine when there has been water damage. And we are required by law to use a moldicide called Microban on areas that have been exposed to water. In some cases the mold is so bad the entire house is taken down to the cement foundation.

There really is no help to offer the people with a house with mold of that magnitude. Their best bet would be to move and have an inspection done before the move into another house. Or rent an apartment and make sure it is on at least the second floor, preferrably the top floor.

I agree, Shari. I used to manage a construction

company that specialized in water and fire damage

cleanup. We used Metaquat to kill the mold, but as you

say, sometimes you have to take it all down and

rebuild. For many, myself included, moving is not an

option unfortunately. But we do the best that we can

with what we have.

Peace, love, laughter

,

I'm not sure how these will work on a mold allergy but would give them a try.

You can try Stinging Nettle (Urtica dioica) which has a history of use as a blood tonic, circulatory stimulant and anti-allergy. Nettle tea can be made by steeping one teaspoon of dried nettles in a cup of boiling water for 15 minutes. Yarrow is anti-inflammatory, antispasmodic, a digestive tonic, circulatory tonic and relaxant.

Other suggestions I would do is to take your super tonic every day, even twice a day or more when needed.

Check the files for house hold cleaners... maybe of some help when cleaning.

Also to dust and I am not good at cleaning.
