Guest guest
What about an ointment with chickweed or burdock. I didn't see any warnings against nursing mothers in Dr. 's book. A baking soda bath? Some clay mixed with olive oil as a paste? Becky In the course of an average lifetime you will, while sleeping, eat 70 assorted insects and 10 spiders. Guest guest
I'd say either Jewelweed tea or Aloe gel both externally over the area. Don't know how it would affect breastfeeding. I'll see what I can find on that one. Suzanne <suziesgoats@...> wrote: okay group! What can someone take while breast feeding if they have poison ivy and need to get rid of it? Guest guest
The homeopathic remedy Rhus Tox. It is made from poison ivy, but will have no effect on the breastmilk or the baby. Get it in a 30C potency (should be available at just about any HFS) and take one pellet. If the poison ivy gets worse, take another pellet. It WILL work. Guest guest
Jewelweed is good also externally. One nice thing about Mother Nature, she always grows jewelweed right next to the poison ivy.<G> If you are susceptible to poison ivy, make a tea from the jewelweed and put it in an ice cube tray and keep it in the freezer. That way you have it on hand to use when needed. AND take the Rhus Tox also internally.
