That and the female formula or the menopausal should work fine... of course, diet plays a good part in this also.

I got my hot flashes and night sweats under control with the herb motherwort. I bought the tincture and just started taking it as I needed it, then tapering off when I didn't need it anymore. I no longer get sweats, although I do get warm flushes now and then, and I'm still not sleeping well, throwing the covers off and on all night. (So I ordered the Natural Calm and can't wait to see if it works!)

That is absolutely correct. My sister had nothing, some of my friends had nothing, others had a short phase and I have been on and off hormones for over 10 years and this is the worst it has ever been. Doesn't help that I am going thru it in this heat.

And I am VERY emotional.

Got so that they were further and further apart, but it took a bit. I used to keep the tincture and water next to the bed at night so I could take it at the first sign. Haven't done that in a long time....several months. Although I still toss and turn and get warm and throw off and on the covers, I don't get the sweats, thank goodness.

How much motherwort for hot flashes? I get them REAL bad plus at least 4 times during the night. It's been over 10 years for me. I was on hrt but am off now and am miserable.

I find lately that my face is going very red on occasion and it sometimes lasts for an hour or more. It seems to be worse when I am upset about something (which in this house is a lot)

My mom came up with the idea that it might be hot flashes but only in my face as the rest of me seems to be cold... more than I used to be.

You can see where the red ends....right at the edge of my face and it looks like I put makeup only on my face and forgot the rest. I don't wear makeup btw.

Problem is...I am not sure if Mom is right or if it might be something else....if she is right, I hope it doesn't get worse as it feels like my face is sunburned, when it is really bad.

Yeah it kind of is. I am on disability and he does a lot of stuff for us. He does have a very nice side to him so that makes it harder.... If it was all bad he would have been gone long ago.

Yes he has been seeking help, just haven't found the right type yet but he is seeing a psyc next week, I think it is.

Is cooked garlic and onion ok because I really don't like raw for some reason. Hubby has been checking out different places here for the cayenne tincture but it is really expensive. Someone sent me a site last week for the powder (and celery seed) but not sure which is best....or easier to use and store.

It would be so much easier to change things if it was just me and hubby but I have 8 kids and trying to change everyone would be impossible.....and I can't afford everything so I tend to neglect me. I also have to rely on others to get things for me which makes it even more difficult because I hate to ask for things for myself.

Kathy,

Is it a must that have this hot tempered person in your house? Has this person recognized their signs of anger? Sought help? I'm hoping to get involved with a Gang Ministry and teach these young folks about benefits of effective communications and I don't mean through guns/knives either. We shall see. Maybe a book will spring forth like "living waters."

I'm sure you keeping your feelings stuffed is not great. Vent here--we're the family who really cares!

Heard garlic, onion or cayenne great for Blood Pressure.

I check my bp and it is usually not too bad....although for me normal used to be 90/60 but has gone up to with what they call a normal range for everyone else....lol. I do have a lot of stress due to someone in the house with a horrible temper. I keep everything inside now and I never used to do that.

My mom says that she knows several people who only got red in their faces and never did get the whole body flash. I have noticed some other little changes that actually started to make sense after she told me that....although it is possible that my thyroid can be causing some of it too.
