This is just wonderful!! I'm working on this same thing myself. Only I'm just getting started on it. I just bought three raw food cookbooks. If one can call them "cook" books that is. I'm looking into the organic stores and internet sites that sell organic products too. I'm taking baby steps myself but I'll get there too. Congratulations dear.

I am almost completely off my narcotics now. I never take the morphine anymore and am down to just once a day for my lortabs and muscle relaxers. I'm starting to cut them down too. Taking my body off those things that I've been so used to for so long has been difficult for me but I have made good progress I think. My back is still rather painful but the MSM is helping I think. Before long I'll be completely off all of them. My body will be better for it. I'll be getting a treadmill this fall and will be working on that to help me lose weight. I'm not too much over weight but I could stand to lose some since I haven't been very active due to all those narcs. Thank you Suzie and Don and everyone here for all your help and advise when I needed it most.

Still plugging away

Subject: Transitioning to RAW

I have been on this great list since almost its beginning and in the beginning I just looked at the messages about eating RAW.

It has taken me a while but am still working on it. I would say that I am about 75/25.

There are millions of books out there about eating raw but I found the most helpful way for me was to eat more salades. You can put all kinds of RAW fruits and/or veggies in a salade and that has helped me.

The funny part of eating RAW fruits and veggies is that I now desire less meat. As a matter of fact I just don't think much about meat anymore. One reason, I tried eating RAW meat but well except for RAW organic grass fed Bison ground, I just couldn't hack it. cough, cough. I just saw parasites in my mind..LOL.

I did also eliminate the obvious poisons from my diet such as sugar of any kind, cooked grains, and bread. I do occasionally eat Ezekial bread made with sprouted grains and as I don't react badly to this bread, I guess that it is OK once in awhile. I love tomatoe sandwiches...I used to love BLTs but never eat bacon anymore.

I guess I just took baby steps to raw but am making progress and certainly feel better with fewer health problems.

Suzi and Don have really influenced my thoughts on eating and thanks for that!

Anne

Hi Lynn,

You just keep plugging away too and taking those baby steps. You are

doing wonderfully well at changing your own health around too. Very well

done on weaning yourself from the narcotics. Just remember to take it

slowly to allow your body to adjust to the differences. It won't be too

much longer and you too will be experiencing much better health, energy

and vitality Lynn.

As you transition to a more raw diet, preferrable with very little fat,

you will begin to lose weight naturally as your body seeks it's own

preferred weight. Just remember to eat lots of sweet fruits daily and

lots and lots of tender leafy greens. Do drink plenty of distilled or RO

water too. You will find that as you eat more and more fruits (of all

types) that you will desire to drink less water. This is natural as you

are getting plenty of living water from the fruits you will be eating.

You are most welcome Lynn. Anytime, that is what we are here for.
